He knows when to say please and thank you... and excuse me because "toot" is one of his favorite words. He loves to talk about his favorite character friends... Thomas and Bobby (Bob the Builder) and sing his favorite theme songs. He can spot a McDonald's from a mile away and loudly lets you know when he sees it too! If he misses something one of the brother's point out while driving he spends the next two miles saying "Where? Where?".
Don't bother trying to sneak something out of the pantry, he hears even the slightest rustle of a chip bag or cookie package. Just like Hayden, he can always be found just before dinner begging for croutons as I make the dinner salad. He's a pretty good eater and seems willing to try new things. Sometimes he feels left out when we have something with peanuts or peanut butter but just last week I bought him a jar of soynut butter that he seems to really be enjoying!
J.D. is a very eager helper. He never passes a piece of garbage on the floor without stopping to pick it up. He loves to take dirty clothes to the laundry room. If you get the mop out he starts to move the kitchen chairs for you. If you vacuum, he gets his little vacuum and gathers all the small rugs he can find (even the ones you don't need). He is Daddy's helper on Tuesday nights when he is left here all alone while the brothers are at AWANA. And look, he can even make his own bed:
He does occasionally get miffed, mostly when he can't do something his brothers are doing. Or when he can't have a piece of gum... although now he knows he can have a mint instead so he usually just heads for the jar.
I've mentioned before how much J.D. loves books. He especially loves books about Corduroy (the bear) and puppies. I am so thankful that Wesley can read now. An extra reader in the family really helps! It seems having four older brothers has helped him "mature" a little faster at times but at the same time he is still clearly the "baby" of the family and everyone looks out for him... most of the time!
Oh, he sounds like a fun little guy! I love how he makes his bed. Adorable!
ReplyDeleteWhere did he get that cool hat. He is
ReplyDeletea littler trooper and so much fun.
Love that he finally calls me Grammie
and, of course, has no problem saying
Pa. And he uses the the word "yes".
