Leap Year Picnic
Since today was Leap Day we thought we'd take our "extra" day and do something fun! We packed up a picnic lunch and headed to the park. The boys played. Annabeth was a good girl and sat in the stroller taking it all in. I read a bit of the newspaper and kept an eye on everyone.
We ended up eating lunch a little bit early. We normally eat lunch at noon but today everyone insisted they were starving by 10:30am. I managed to hold them off until 11:15 or so. In the end eating early worked out okay because Annabeth was ready to go home and nap.
We figured it out, by next leap year Annabeth will be 4, JD will be 8, Hayden will be 10, Eli & Justus will be 12, and Wesley will be 14. Wow! Will they even want to have a picnic at the park with mom when they are that old? I hope so. I guess it doesn't matter, I'll drag them to the park anyway!

My Least Favorite Stage
This week I finally bit the bullet and let Annabeth try some solid food. I love babies but feeding them is a pain in the neck. I love breastfeeding, it's so easy and convenient. Spooning cereal and mashed veggies... not so much. Honestly, I would have put it off even longer but the doctor told me at Annabeth's last check up we should start soon and she has another appointment this week. I didn't want to have to explain my laziness to the doctor so I got out my little bowls and spoons to give it a try.
Actually, Annabeth did great! She didn't spit the cereal back out at me, which I consider a huge success. She was pretty pleased with herself. You probably would be too if you had five boys cheering your every bite! Choruses of: "Yay! Annabethie!" and "Yummy baby mush!" could be heard up and down the block. So I guess we'll stick with cereal a week or so and then start trying other more tasty foods. I don't want my baby to grow up too fast, but I'm already looking forward to 6 months from now when she can feed herself.

Sleepy
JD doesn't take naps anymore but today he laid down to visit with Annabeth and fell asleep. I thought it was so cute, I had to take a picture.

San Tan Mountain Homeschool Field Trip
We were back at San Tan Mountain Park for a little homeschool hike today. We even brought Grandpa and Grandma Molly along for fun.
After the hike, we headed back home to have a pizza lunch together.

Birthday Party
The twins birthday party was a bit late, but we were able to have all three sets of grandparents there for the party.
Seemed a bit strange to be able to send the kids out to eat on the patio for early February birthday party. The kids didn't seem to mind.
I was a bit lazy and ordered cupcakes from Sam's club instead of making a cake myself. They were pretty good!
