Visitors from Afar

Spring is a great time to visit Arizona and we've had several visitors from afar in the past month. And by afar I mean Idaho, Wisconsin, and Minnesota!

We had a lovely, although too short, visit from an elementary school friend of mine from Idaho. Amy and her family came for an afternoon visit and swim. Her two boys were the same age as Hayden and JD; they got along great and had a great time. Amy also brought along her in-laws which made Annabeth happy because she got to visit with a grandma. It didn't matter it wasn't her grandma, she's an equal opportunity grandma lover!

My friend Debbie and her friends we like to call "the ladies" came for a week to stay in the guest house. Last year Debbie brought three friends, this year she brought five! We visited with them here and there, but they kept busy exploring the area and eating out. I was able to go out to eat with them one night and they babysat one evening so Jerry and I could go out too. We hope to see Debbie and her friends again next April!

The day before the ladies left, Roz and Trevor arrived. That evening we had a little fiesta. Jerry grilled carne asada, I made homemade pico de gallo, Trevor and Roz made bean dip, and the ladies brought a delicious salad and cake. That night we had a packed house with 16 people sleeping here - 10 in the main house and 6 in the guest house!

Since the guest house was occupied Roz and Trevor spent their first night in the house with us. All the kids (except Annabeth) had a sleepover in the boy's room. The boys thought it was great! I'm sure Roz and Trevor were glad it was only one night.

The next morning we got an early start - Jerry and Roz went to Tempe to run the Pat's Run with several other LaForce employees and I loaded the ladies and their luggage in the big van to take them to the airport. Lucky Trevor was left to babysit and feed the gang breakfast.

Roz and Trevor stayed until the following Tuesday. Jerry was able to take off a few days and visit. We had a little birthday get together for him too, although it was more for everyone to hang out with Roz and Trevor than anything else.

Our growing family…
